I really don't put too much stock in labels, I either like it or don't and I do like Muddy, as a matter of fact I'm listening to the "Folk Singer" album right now.

Of interest regarding the album "Folk Singer" from the liner notes to the CD release: "The resemblance to folk music ends with the album's title, however; no matter what the label called it to cash in on the "folk boom," this music is blues all the way."

He was not folk, he was the blues and one of the best blues singers ever. I saw him live in London in 1976. He was wonderful,of course. Happy birthday Muddy.
