Subject: RE: Happy Birthday, Muddy Waters From: bobad Date: 05 Apr 08 - 02:25 PM I really don't put too much stock in labels, I either like it or don't and I do like Muddy, as a matter of fact I'm listening to the "Folk Singer" album right now. Of interest regarding the album "Folk Singer" from the liner notes to the CD release: "The resemblance to folk music ends with the album's title, however; no matter what the label called it to cash in on the "folk boom," this music is blues all the way." |
Subject: RE: Happy Birthday, Muddy Waters From: Folk Form # 1 Date: 06 Apr 08 - 07:44 AM He was not folk, he was the blues and one of the best blues singers ever. I saw him live in London in 1976. He was wonderful,of course. Happy birthday Muddy. |
