Subject: RE: Kendall's next operation From: freda underhill Date: 21 Jun 08 - 08:46 AM The fool on the mule in his dress of pink tulle is a man with a heart that is sweet he's wearing stilettos and singing allegretto to a donkey he met down the street!! The man on the mule, a romantic old fool, has a humour that's warm and its wacky I must mention of course he is known to be coarse except in the company of jacqui as he whispers sweet nothings and soft serenades his vocal chords revving with soft chardonnay the song that endures for the man on the mule is the song of of the fool in the tulle on the mule... |

Subject: RE: Kendall's next operation From: jacqui.c Date: 10 Jul 08 - 07:51 PM We just got back from Albany where Kendall had his post-op check up. His surgeon was very pleased with the voice that he heard and the examination showed that the filler has remained in place and is doing the job of almost filling the gap left by the original surgery. Kendall's false vocal cords are coming into play again and he has to do the voice exercises to try and train them not to react but, overall, Dr Shapshay was very pleased with the results. He says that it will be a few months until we see (and hear) the final results of this procedure and we will be going to see him in October, on the way back from the Getaway. Kendall will never again have that wonderful voice that I have only heard on recordings - the cord is scarred and stiff and will never vibrate as it should again - but he is getting more of a voice back and should have no problem with storytelling and, with practice, singing songs that would suit the different voice that he will have. At least he has a voice and that is a real blessing. |

Subject: RE: Kendall's next operation From: Bobert Date: 10 Jul 08 - 08:50 PM False vocal chords??? Hey, Capt'n... You got it made now... If anyone catches you in the middle of a big whooper than you can blame it on yer surgeon... "A drunkards dream if I ever did see one..." But 'til then, keep on keepin' on.... Bobert |

Subject: RE: Kendall's next operation From: catspaw49 Date: 10 Jul 08 - 11:05 PM Great news Kendall! All that's left now is to have the hydraulics installed in your willie and you'll be set to go! Where I have no idea............. Spaw |
Subject: RE: Kendall's next operation From: katlaughing Date: 10 Jul 08 - 11:51 PM That is good news. It's not every day a person gets to switch voices and have two of 'em! *smile* Seriously, it is grand that you DO have a voice and it will be getting better. {{{{{Love & Hugs}}}}}}}kat |
Subject: RE: Kendall's next operation From: catspaw49 Date: 11 Jul 08 - 12:22 AM Yeah, but when he gets the hydraulics installed, THEN he'll have something to sing about! ...............................and so will Jacqui....... Spaw |

Subject: RE: Kendall's next operation From: Becca72 Date: 11 Jul 08 - 11:14 AM Glad things went well in Albany. I hope Seamus was alright when you got home. I stopped in to let him out as requested and the damned fool wouldn't go. He brought me every toy he owns, wiggled his butt and stared at me with his big brown baby seal eyes, but he refused to get anywhere near the door. I tell ya, it's a good thing he's cute! :-) |
Subject: RE: Kendall's next operation From: Liz the Squeak Date: 11 Jul 08 - 12:23 PM Becca, are you talking about Seamus or Kendall there in your last statement? Glad to hear you're doing well dear, get Jacqui to give you a big wet one from me. LTS |
Subject: RE: Kendall's next operation From: Rapparee Date: 11 Jul 08 - 12:47 PM I can see it now: Kendall comes in and calls Seamus. Seamus, confused by the new voice, assumes Kendall is a burglar and pees all over his shoes.... |
Subject: RE: Kendall's next operation From: SINSULL Date: 11 Jul 08 - 12:57 PM I often wonder if Seamus would have been half as cute had he been raised by somone without a sense of humor. |
Subject: RE: Kendall's next operation From: Becca72 Date: 11 Jul 08 - 01:03 PM Both, Liz, both. :-) |
Subject: RE: Kendall's next operation From: maeve Date: 11 Jul 08 - 02:05 PM Happy news- a new and different voice will still be Kendall's voice. I remember the original, I welcome the new, and rejoice! Guess I'd better get ready for some baking. And Micca, what do you mean giving gnu permission to take Kendall out of Maine? Jacqui's the only one who has authorization to do that! |
Subject: RE: Kendall's next operation From: Micca Date: 11 Jul 08 - 05:08 PM Maeve, you know what I mean, and I hope to be in Maine on the 30th July so a food parcel containing apple pie at Marys would be most welcome!!!Pretty please? |
Subject: RE: Kendall's next operation From: maeve Date: 11 Jul 08 - 06:15 PM Hmmm, we'll see, Micca. Kendall has dibs (after my True Love) on the apple pies around here. Glad you enjoyed the last one. :) I'll take your request under consideration. See you soon! maeve |
Subject: RE: Kendall's next operation From: kendall Date: 11 Jul 08 - 08:03 PM My Daddy swore he would never quit drinking, My Mother got down on her knees and she begged, One night my Daddy came home cold sober The dog didn't know him and he bit off his leg... |
Subject: RE: Kendall's next operation From: Bobert Date: 11 Jul 08 - 08:25 PM "Well, if ya' don't start drinkin', I'm gonna leave..." (George Thorgood)... Hey, Capt'n what if you end up sounding like Tom Waits??? That would be purdy cool... If that happens then I'll trade voices with ya'... I'm getting tired sounding like a hillbilly bluesman and Tom Waits would be, at least, a change... Speakin' of a change, what Spawzer says... Ask that doc if yer can fine tune the hydrolics... Maybe a flap, falsie 'er whatever... (The Capt'n goin' "What is hydrolics???") Well, ahhhhh, they the parts that when you was young-an-able-to-buzz-all-night-long now just to a humm a few minites now and then... Bobert |
Subject: RE: Kendall's next operation From: Liz the Squeak Date: 12 Jul 08 - 06:23 AM You mean the thing that used to watch you part your hair in the mornings but now watches your ingrowing toenails? Ah they're right.... getting old ain't for cissies. LTS |
Subject: RE: Kendall's next operation From: Hollowfox Date: 12 Jul 08 - 05:18 PM Hooray! You're more important than your voice, Cap'n. And if Jack Klugman can still get gigs after his vocal cord problems, I don't see why you shoudn't. Loveya, Mary |
