It's not long now to the start of the Morris season. Another year gone - how fast has it gone!!??

This time last year, we were all crossing our fingers after hearing of Pete's illness whilst on holiday in Spain.

In less than a month's time, it will be a year since he very sadly hung up his Twelve String and went off to cause havoc upstairs!!!

So, I miss the old bugger, so I was looking at the thread from this time last year, and someone called Billybob suggested/asked, about an annual concert or something of that sort.

Great idea!!! Now I don't know about you, but my year ahead is FAIRLY full - concerts here, Morris Stands there, Festivals etc etc. So, if we could come to some sort of concensus on a date and a venue or indeed, if we should have one - what do you think?

A date for suggestion would be Saturday 26th July.

Val, what do you think of the suggestion? I know we could organise something within the ranks of The Cat!

Hey Richard, I know there is the BBQ at yours for Pete and Jacqui (looking forward to it!!), I was just trawling through the old posts and Billybobs suggestion seemed to jump out and remind me. I thought it was a great idea at the time.

The date that I have suggested already seems to be being received well. Billybobs suggestion seemed more of a "concert" than a singaround/BBQ - I may have got that wrong. Perhaps we could up our game here a little and make it a bit more formal, in terms of the greater public, but still be "relaxed and informal" as us folkies.

Venues for consideration could be: - The White Horse (Upper Stoke); The Kings Arms (Upnor) or West Malling Recreation Ground (Big Dick from my Morris side says that there is a nice, natuaral bowl there which has been used in the past), or Woodsie - A High Jacking maybee??? I don't know ...... let's see where this goes, but end of July gives us plenty of time to play with it!

I don't know - it was a suggestion for discussion. Discuss ..... :-)
