I think John has been co-opted to help you with this to give a 'third' Ray. Where's it going to be then?

I know the level of singing is high. Let's hope you get lots of entries. Don't forget the Singer Songwriter competition too.

Anyone remember the 'All Folk Around the Wrekin' festival? They used to have a 'worst singer in the world' competition, I often thought that if Fred entered he would have won hands down. He always reminded me of Peter Sellers pretending to be a folk singer - ah well, perhaps its just me...........

I went to Wrekin once many years ago!the weather was very warm

Worst singer competition is run at Fylde ff I believe

Fred was great singer and genuine person who was happiest singing and having a pint. His repertoire of songs and memory was a lifetimes work

Hiya Ossonflags - I'll be somewhere (God willing) to have a pint with you and your lass.
Pity about the Cons. club, it was a good pint reasonably priced.
What's the story there then ? I know the Steward and his missus were retiring after last years festival , and what a very decent pair they were.
Have we lost it as a venue ? Tell me more

Unless something has happened very recently the song comp is expected to be held in the Con Club as in previous years.

That was naughty Ray. It's already been agreed that people can take their pick on another thread. Don't start again.

To anyone who fancies a go at the competition but isn't sure (and has a full weekend ticket or permission from JT) I'd say Go For It. The judges this year have a good mix of tastes and all are experienced - and I don't just say that cos Badger is one :-). They will give anyone a fair hearing - and don't forget £100 is at stake.

Look forward to seeing you both.
