Subject: RE: St. George's Day on Late Junction From: GUEST,Ralphie Date: 23 Apr 08 - 05:10 AM Yes, Congratulations to Radio 3 and Verity for putting the sainted Georges memory on the airwaves. Will be interesting to hear how she celebrates the English heritage. (Pity he was an immigrant though!.... St George that is.) Also good luck for Billy Braggs concert at the Barbican London tonight. Try and listen if you can. Ralph |
Subject: RE: St. George's Day on Late Junction From: Surreysinger Date: 25 Apr 08 - 08:37 PM I thought it was a good programme - it was nice, for instance to hear Mr Cocking and Mr Noble giving forth "Merry Mountain Child" (or whatever the real title of that song may be) but I was more than a little mystified about the reasoning for including German (??) sheep at the end ... just what did a load of bleating sheep have to do with St George's Day ... I'm still trying to fathom the relevance ... hey ho!! |
Subject: RE: St. George's Day on Late Junction From: Bonzo3legs Date: 26 Apr 08 - 02:36 PM I agree, it was a good programme, complete with silences which trigger track markers on my Sony MZ-RH1 HiMd recorder. I found that the Andrew Cronshaw bit went on a bit too long, albeit cleverly done. |
