At Mudcat we probably need some form of standard reference on this subject. While I have started to write one it is going to take me some time. In the meantime may I suggest that you put the word 'Notation' in the Forum Search Box, and search for threads over the last 90 or 365 days. There are only 3 or 4 threads but they cover the subject pretty well.

Regards
John

Nan, Can't understand the problem. I assume you have downloaded a program to play and display ABC. This should print it, play it, transpose it, make a cup of tea as well probably.

Look at ABC home page www.gre.ac.uk/~c.walshaw/abc/

Sorry, I can never seem to do the blue clicky things.

Cheers,

Pete

It LOOKS like brain surgery but seems to be the only way to get loads of free tunes off the web. What has been your experience?

I don't even know how to site read music but I can veeerry slowly transpose it to tablature and then play it!

Let me know your thoughts on this shareware. Thanks! Nan
