Yesterday I was bragging to a friend of mine how easy it is to find lyrics with the help of the Mudcat College. He was looking for the lyrics of In the evening when the sun goes down. It was recorded by Leadbelly, but I don't have the record anymore. So I made a thread, but so far I only had one reaction and no solution yet. What about my image, being the only whizz mudkid in Holland!

Yes John, it is the title. It's a blues and the first lines are: In the evening, in the evening, mama when the sun goes down (2x) Ain't it lonesome,ain't it lonesome, when your mama is in town When the sun goes down

Will, is that the actual title?
There is a song, "Nightlife" which begins with that phrase
Also there is the song "Every night when the Sun Goes Down (In)" sometimes known as "Suzanne".

I'm looking for the lyrics of In the evening when the sun goes down. I know Leadbelly recorded it. I can't find it in the database.
