This just came through on the Folk Arts England News:

"Cleethorpes forced to cancel festival
Published Date: 06/05/2008
This decision has been made due to a significant reduction in the level of advance ticket sales which are running at 25% of last year's levels. The committee feel that it would be financially irresponsible to continue but wish to thank everybody who has purchased tickets. All monies received to date will be refunded and it is hoped that everyone concerned will be contacted personally to thank them for their past support.

Everyone has been shocked and saddened by the news, but those feelings do not begin to cover how we as a festival feel – we are truly gutted but we would like to thank all previous patrons and supporters of the festival.
