On Nancy Kerr and James Fagan's website (http://www.kerrfagan.com/) their concert dates list "Bath Folk and Beer Festival" on 17th July. I haven't been able to find anything about this event on Bath tourism sites, and an email to the alleged venue hasn't been answered. Do any Catters have any information please?

I know it's still a couple of months away but I'll be visiting UK from Australia at that time so it would be nice to put some arrangements in place if it sounds worthwhile.

This event takes place at The Royal Oak pub, Bath - there's a link on the Kerr-Fagan site under that date, but unfortunately the pub are always very behind with updating their website!

This is a really great little festival, with a packed programme of excellent musicians, mostly local, in a lovely friendly pub. My band played a slot last year, and really enjoyed the atmosphere. I can recommend it wholeheartedly.

You could maybe try ringing the pub? I'm sure the website will get updated at some point. Do you just need confirmation it's happening? I could probably do that if you like.

Sue

PS this is not like yer usual outdoor festival with stages. It all takes place in one pub (though I think last year they also used another pub as well).

Thank you Sue, that sounds great. If you are able to get confirmation and an idea of dates I'd be very grateful. I've got 16th, 17th and 18th free but committed either side, so if it runs across any of those days I'll get some accommodation booked.

Nancy and James are a couple of my favourite performers and I haven't seen them out here for about three years now.

Thanks again
Mal

Will see what I can do, won't be til after Monday though.

By the way, I know that Nancy and James are going over to Australia in December this year for a few months, so you might catch them then.

Sue

Mr Red

Yeh - but that's the site with nothing on it! (It doesn't even mention the weekly session, let alone the Festival)

I'll ask Nancy about it on Monday.

:)

Nancy says: The Royal Oak folk and beer festival is definitely happening on the 17th of July and we are performing with Rob Harbron - I'm not sure what else is happening but there will definitely be music all day at the pub as there was last year.

She's going to let me know more about who is playing on Thursday, if you'd like to know.

Sue, thank you very much indeed for your help. On that basis I'll definitely plan to be there. Any additional information would add to the anticipation, but don't go to great efforts on my behalf.

If I get the chance I'll thank you face to face at the Royal Oak. :)

hi Mal

Sadly I can't make this year's festival, as I'll be away at that time. Hope you have a great time though, look forward to hearing about it. :)

Ah, I mistook Nancy's quote about playing with Rob Harbron as being you.
