Subject: Linking to songs from elsewhere
From: Garrett Fitzgerald
Date: 23 Mar 97 - 09:00 PM

Greetings!

I run a web site for Atwater-Donnelly, a Celtic/American folk group from Rhode Island. My site has a page that lists the songs on their recordings, and when DigiTrad was at Xerox PARC, I was able to link more or less directly to the songs.

However, under the new system, it seems that every time the database is updated, the links will change, and I'll lose them. Is it still possible to get directly to the songs, or will I have to resign myself to changing the query strings every so often?

Best,
Garrett

Why dont you just carry the songs you want? I know it takes up space but then you shoulder the bandwidth for your visitors.

You might also just post a link to DT and let your visitors find the songs, and get the full DT experience.

Really, how much space can some text files take?
