Subject: Origins: Colin Henderson From: GUEST,Peterr Date: 25 May 08 - 05:49 PM Many years ago got a tape of Tom Topping Band and via this fine forum got confirmation from Harvey Andrews among others that Colin was the author of some great songs. I've just refound the tape and a song on it starts 'Open your eys, take a look at the day, Is the sky bright blue or a dirty dark grey' etc. Did he write this one as well, if so and even if not the songs he wrote (eg Cold on the road tonight) deserve to be much better known. |
Subject: RE: Origins: Colin Henderson From: Jim Dixon Date: 28 Mar 09 - 03:44 PM It's hard to find information about Colin Henderson. "Rambles: A Cultural Arts Magazine" has reviewed a couple of his albums: Highway of Diamonds: The Songs of Bob Dylan (2003) and Shifting Sands (2005), but he apparently published the albums himself, and the reviews don't even give complete track lists, or information about how to buy the albums or how to contact the performer. It doesn't even tell you if the performer is British, American, Australian, or what. A lot of good it does to send review copies to Rambles! |
Subject: RE: Origins: Colin Henderson From: GUEST,Shelagh Doyle & Norman Castle Date: 08 Jun 10 - 11:35 PM The lyrics are from a song is called "Making Ends Meet" which was indeed written by Colin Henderson. And yes - he does deserve to be much better known - he has written some wonderful songs which should be recorded by many and heard by the world. |
