Subject: 'Oh bellboy' Jazz Record info please
From: sapper82

Some years ago I remember hearing a jazz record a few times on the Radio called Oh Bellboy.
It was a jazz orchestra with a woman vocalist repeating "oh Bellboy" in a rather suggestive way.
It also had a high pitched trumpet solo that the vocalist kept up with.
Anyone recognise it??

The song was HEY BELLBOY and the singer was Gloria Wood, performing with Pete Candoli and His Orchestra. Indeed it is jazz, and the only intelligible words are "Hey, bellboy!" but she does a lot of scat singing as well. It was released as a single in 1953. Songwriters were Pete Candoli and Tom Mack.

You can hear it at YouTube
