Has anyone been to the Chepstow festival? I'm in that area at the time, and wondered if it was worth a punt? Any experience of "Steamchicken" Ceilidh band?

I have never seen Steamchicken , but I have been to Chepstow Festival and it was great . Saw Johnie Collins in the social club , and it was a great experience , worth going to the festival for that alone .

I shall be there. Friday night is me, Keith Donnelly, Naomi Bedford and Oysterband. Not all at once, obviously. Come and say hi if you go. Tom

I was there last year & had a wonderful time. Great venue - inside the castle. The only problem I had was that it was a long haul up to the pubs at the top of the hill.

I endorse what you say about Steamchicken - great at Warwick last year. And they are in Sheffield for the University Ceilidh Society next week. Great!!

The Ceilidh sounds promising, but I shall give Oysterband a miss, as they were one of the loud lot at Bridgnorth.

Steamchicken - if you are a ceilidh dancer - you won't find a finer band IMNSHO. They are up there with the best. They also happen to be booked for Stroud Ceilidhs March 6th.
We were due to dance to them June 20 Evesham but the Hall was changed and they have sold-out - probably on lower fire limits.

The dance tent at Chepstow was well big enough, though feet shuffling is not recommended - some floor panels have raised edges - beware being right close to the stage there are gaps close up to the barriers. Assuming they use the same set-up that is.
