Subject: Origins: Ballad of Snorky? From: Piers Plowman Date: 09 Jun 08 - 10:33 AM Having had such good success with my last query, I thought I'd try again. I know where it's from, namely Bob Clampett's "Time for Beany" or perhaps "Beany and Cecil". Some time ago, I saw it on the Toontracker website maintained by Ron Kurer. However, it seems to have disappeared. The singer sounded very familiar to me, but I don't know who he was and have found nothing by searching the internet. On another forum, someone suggested that it had been Sonny and Cher. I don't think it was, but it could have been. I don't remember a female voice. Someone else suggested that it was just a couple of kids Bob Clampett found somewhere. Possible, but it seems unlikely to me. I remember it as a male singer and a guitarist (same person?). A young voice from a time when I was not yet even a twinkle in my mother's eye. None of us are what we were back then anymore. I'd quite like to know who wrote it, too, because it was very clever. Any information would be much appreciated. |
