Subject: Hospice Hootenanny, Devon--anyone going? From: T in Oklahoma (Okiemockbird) Date: 12 Jun 08 - 06:59 PM Are any 'Catters going to this American music festival in Devon on Saturday? How popular is American roots music in the UK? |

Subject: RE: Hospice Hootenanny, Devon--anyone going? From: BB Date: 12 Jun 08 - 07:37 PM I would almost undoubtedly have gone to at least part of it, but it's on our club night, also in N. Devon. Personally, my main liking is for English music, but I do thoroughly enjoy traditional American music, particularly that which had it roots in British music. Barbara |

From: nickp Date: 13 Jun 08 - 03:57 AM My wife and I will be going to the shape note workshop during the day but can't be at the concert in the evening as we are already going to an oldtime music picking weekend a little closer to home. There's a reasonable interest in oldtime (and bluegrass). Check out Friends of American Old Time Music and Dance They have over 400 members and they're just the ones who care enough to sign up!
