I would never suggest for one second that you do self pity.

I'm talking about a story, the telling of which would involve no shame.

I respect your feelings though and on that basis will say nothing more on the subject.

If you read back you'll note that there are a few subtle comments on your character and not one is remotely derogatory.

I think he would speak for a number of the fathers here when I say that my father would have hated, scorned, swore blind, pissed all over the whole crappy concept of "Father's Day".   In fact, he often did.

One of the reasons I miss him so much, all the time.

(And don't get me started on my mother's reaction to Mother's Day.)

I wish for a nurturing father, not an authoritarian one. We need to redefine father hood.
