Thanks for the satorial advice. It's a kick-off tea which will involve about 25 of the nicest, most polite, and toughest ladies in town -- the kind that simply get things that have to be done, done. The project is to raise about US $3.5 million for the Library and as Library Director I'll have to be there.

Pale blue pants, white shirt, and a pastel tie it is then! I'll even wear shoes for a change -- shined shoes.

or you could be the modern day gentleman and wear leather trousers, boots with enough buckles to tie a superyacht down, piercing white shirt, leather sports jacket, tie your hair in a ponytail(if you have enough that is!) and a leather hat(not cap... a hat!!!). You could add jewellery if you wish but nothing too flamboyant ;)

PS... not recommended if you're under 5'10" unless you are of a small build! :D

Well, now as I wend my weary way into the arms of Morpheus I can say that I have indeed been nice to people today. I have had no one flogged, drawn and quartered, keelhauled, hanged, electrocuted, shot, decapitated, burnt at the stake, boiled alive, staked out on an anthill, or otherwise forced to violently shuffle off this mortal coil. I haven't hit anyone with my feet, knees, forehead, elbows, hands, fingers or anything else. In fact, I bought candy for my staff and it wasn't even poisoned.

I did not play either banjo or bodhran or even attempt the accordion.

All in all, I was pretty nice today (except for that guy who turned left from the right hand lane -- HIM I wasn't nice to but he probably didn't hear what I called him).

On the way to a party on Saturday I was mistaken for an opera singer (!?!?) but complimented on being nicely turned out, by a complete stranger at a bus station in Finsbury Park.... Well it cheered me up anyway...

I've had a headache all week... I think it started when I read the now closed 'more session rudeness' thread.

How about we take today to be nice to someone eh? Perform a random act of kindness, hold a door open for the person behind you, wait patiently in the queue at the store, smile at a stranger or offer someone your seat on the train, that sort of thing.

Someone must have paid you a compliment or done you a favour in the last 4 weeks, use today to pay it forward.
