I remember when he and Maggie Boyle opened for our band, the Lunchtime Legends, in the Elsinore in Whitby on 21st August 1996, heroically putting credibility on the line. Steve has avoided the Elsinore on Wednesday during Folk Week ever since. I'll be there to see him at the Bothy.

I see that area winners of the New Roots contest, Jiggawatt are supporting JK on 20th July at that Bothy gig. Best catch 'em before they're on at an Arts Centre near you at £12 admits. Young, refreshing, they're from Wakefield and blisteringly good. Congrats Bothy for programming them in.

News from the Bothy. Steve Tilston will be making a welcome return to The Bothy Folk Club Southport this Sunday 22nd June at 8pm. Also Lester Simpson's missed gig a couple of weeks ago has been re-arranged for the week after, which is Sunday 29th June followed a week later by Mick Ryan & Pete Harris (Sunday 7th July). That's 3 of my favorite guests in a row. & to finish off the season of guests, 2 wks later we have another fav John Kirkpatrick (Sunday 20th July). Then it's summer singarounds every Sunday until we start the next season off with Muldoon's Picnic on 7th September.
What a great finish to the season, hope to see some of you there.
