Well wasn't that a great night, such a wonderful club with wonderful people, we sang Charley's "Ratcliffe Highway" and Barry's version of "Priest and Nuns", the later came hot on the heels of Ron's rendition of "The Battle of Copenhagen" and was introduced as "Now we have sacked Copenhagen were going off to roger some nuns" Age caught up with some of the lyrics but I lost the bet on the first song! The duracell bunny is still running (you had to be there) and my moby phone went off half way through "Green Grows the Laurel", the ring tone(how vain is this) is me singing "Sailor Lad" it was very weird, (it was my daughter calling to ask how to use the remote for the TV!) In fact, Jo (wife), son (Will) and daughter (Polly) all phoned ( I put it on silent) I thought some family disaster had occured!
Any way, great club, great atmosphere and great friends

It sounds like a very exciting night! I'll make sure I never bring a cellphone on stage.

Roll & Go has been discussing using our cellphones to demonstrate how modern sailors do their work. "Let's haul on the halyard, lads!" "Dah, how we do that?" "Maybe Barry knows. Anyone got his number?" "All together, now, press 'Talk'!"

Cell phones at sea? You could toss the sextant & just navigate from tower to tower (T3 navigation)alot like coastal piloting. Bouy to bouy or landmark to landmark

Peter, I hope your Priests & Nuns went over well, some folks don't take kindly to pump shanties that actually put the religious at both ends of the handles. Glad you like it well enough to take it on.

Oh Barry, Ron sings a song about "keeping your hand on your purse" advice given to a young girl from her mother, I think it is a good precurser to Priest and Nuns and sets the last verse admirably

Peter, I'd like to know & hear the song you're talking about "keeping your hand on your purse", sounds as if the Nuns were not ones to be wanting that kind of advice. Purse knapping is not prevented by an ill placed hand but rather by a well placed snatch.
