I 2003 my hair was so thick I could only get a scrunchy around it once. And very curly too.

Now scrunchy goes around 3 o 4 times and hair is now barely wavy.

Due to a number of events and low grade chemo, I guess it will never return to its former glory. Should have cut it off and had a wig made.

And while we are at it, I would like to know where my eyebrows are going. I think they are crawling off my face in my sleep and weaving themselves into TheSilentOne's freaking forehead caterpillars.

Anyone ever try the spray on hair in a can? It was like silly string. You sprayed it on, gently comb strands into it and let it dry. Looked like black cotton candy. And of course "No one will guess you are wearing it." heh heh

Hair-replacement adverts featuring cricket legends Shane Warne and Graham Gooch have been banned by an advertising watchdog.


The Australian spinner and former England captain have been featured prominently in advertising for the Advanced Hair Studio for several years, usually with close-ups of Gooch's head in 'before and after' condition following strand-by-strand replacement.

Advertising Standards Agency, with the watchdog ruling that it is misleading.

The advert - featuring a grinning Warne with the line "I stopped worrying about my hair when I heeded the Warne-ing signs and saw Advanced Hair Studio" - was deemed to imply that the laser procedure would produce the same hair replacement results as the strand-by-strand method.

A year ago April, having fought pattern baldness and even my

and hair, a screwed up my liquid courage and did it.

I think the all-over head shave is great if you have a nicely shaped head (Devil can pull it off...I'm not so sure about the cat LOL). The most important thing is to just acknowledge the fact that you're bald/balding. Pretending it ain't happenin' with the ole comb-over is lame.

Ha, Rapaire! I've noticed that as well. There are men, even young men, who look great with shaved heads. There are many more who might as well go for your proposed enhancement.

Most naturally bald men at minimum retain a bit of 'side cover' over that vulnerable looking area above the ears. Kept neatly trimmed, that bit frames their faces and 'grounds' their head visually. Some who go for the total shaved option may be disappointed to learn they look less like Vin Diesel and more like an unpopped bubblegum bubble.

What I don't understand is why men are now shaving their heads. With some, but not all, of them I think they should tattoo a slit-like thing in the middle. It would reflect what they really are and allow people to avoid them.

I have to admit to having a new hat, a souvenir (I guess) of my recent trip to Ireland.

Ya see, I got in this line (queue) which I thought was for ice cream and when I got to the end of the line the man said, "Ten Euros." I thought it was a high price for ice cream, but, well.... Anyway, it turned out to be a contest and I was awarded the hat for my performance.

Right on the front it has my new title: Irish National Stud.

My brother, who has approximately as much (or as little) hair as I, used to grow it long above his left ear and comb it over the top...looked really dumb when he went swimming. I also collect hats, although not in a particularly manic manner - I have several from brewpubs - but my newest one is from the 2008 Northwest Folklife Festival. Maybe the Getaway should have a hat?

I have several hats and caps and yes, I wear them.

For a damned good reason, I wear them. Wednesday I had two pre-cancerous growths frozen off my head. They were the fifth and sixth so treated. They're caused by sun exposure.

I really like my "Spawn 'til you die" and "Goex Black Rifle Powder" caps but my wife rarely lets me wear them.
