Subject: Lyr Req: Naughty Little Bird From: Pirate of Cape Ann Date: 24 Jun 08 - 11:27 AM Would like to find more lyrics and what ever to compliment my failing brains for this piece. Naughty Little Bird C Well, the dirtiest bird in the neighborhood G Peckin' away on a piece of wood. C He pecked and he pecked in my back yard G C Pecked 'till he made his pecker hard. Chorus: (follows last word of proceeding verse) F Hard Pecker, C Pecker hard. F G Hard Pecker? C He's a naughty little bird. Well the dirtiest bird in the neighborhood Peckin' away on a piece of wood. He pecked and he pecked on my back door Pecked 'till he made his pecker sore! Chorus Well, the dirtiest bird in the neighborhood Peckin' away on a piece of wood. He pecked and he pecked on a piece of timber Pecked 'till he made his pecker limber. |

Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Naughty Little Bird From: Roger in Baltimore Date: 24 Jun 08 - 12:21 PM Pirate, There is a U.S. prison work song with one similar verse. It is called "Early in the Mornin'" and is available on Alan Lomax's CD for the Library of Congress called Prison Songs, Vol. 1, Murderous Home. You can use the search engine to find a thread titles "Wookpecker Song" where Barry Finn has transcribed the relevant portions. Big RiB |
