Greetings to all,

The Alcester Folk Festival has come and gone. Thanks to those who bought tickets and came. The 'new venue' at the Cross Keys pub was full most of the time and the Landord and Landlady asked me to convey their thanks along with the comment about how nice every one was.

There will be the ususal dissection of what we did that was good and the other thing.

This was year 9 and we survived probably the worst summer ever (last year) and went on to run this year.

We are looking forward to next years festival already and we will be running the 'Folkie Sleep Over' or 'Winterfest' again this year.

There will be details oin the website soon.

I am sorry that I couldnt get to gether with more catters over the weekend due to some work I had to do.

It was really nice to see Tig and Him about again and all of the usual peeps.

There are few festivals to go and I will probably see some of you at Warwick and Bromyard.

Bye for now..

GM

Great weekend. We will forget the rain - maybe. But not the bear and good people.

Wonderful to see and hear Shellbacks singing for lost friends at end of Fire station session (Alcester fire fighters and my friend Colin Kemp)

It was a great festival and worked well despite the problems. Shame not more of the public braved it. Good to hear there's going to be one next year. John has also decided he really wants to make it down for February.

There's more comments about what a good time we had on the Alcester Mudgather thread.

A big THANK YOU to all the organisers.

Love and hugs
Tig xxx

Oh well Mr Green

I wuz gunna bring Donnie Donegan for the day (little old lady with strong gospel voice usually at Upton). She broke her hip and would be just about mobile. But the logistics of finding a wheelchair, getting to Kiddy and to Alcester, assuming she wanted to be there. But she usually does like a day out with a toyboy.

Maybe next year.
