Hi Mario,
strode is correct, but with Irish songs, there are usually several versions.
If strolled better for your sounds, you can also use strolled .

Quite so, Boris. I could find nothing but this comment by ? :"The word
"ought" is tricky here -- is it an assumption or a prescription?...
Perhaps the Irish Boys assume that listeners already know these songs, and some indeed will be familiar("Whiskey in a Jar", "Danny Boy"). Others will come as a revelation to even the most dedicated Irish music fans, who will thrill to songs like " Do You Want Your Old
Lobby Washed Down?"(answer:no); "New York Girls" (watch out for 'em!);
and "Three Drunken Maidens"(worse than the New York girls!). This two-disc set is a rollicking good time".[cduniverse]

Now it's my turn to agree with you, Mario. I wasn't familiar with Irish music and "40 Irish Songs Everyone Ought to Know" was a good, and inexpensive, passport to it. But I can hardly find reviews of the
album. It seems a little neglected.

Hi, Boris. I agree with you, it's a beautiful song. I would add that
The Original Irish Boys' album has many fine renderings of Irish standards: Danny Boy, Galway Bay, Carrickfergus, The Spinning Wheel
etc. "Cumberland Road" is the only song I couldn't find the (whole)
lyrics.
