Way to go Rick. I never thought I would ever here possum and tiples mentioned in the same breath on a radio show. Great playing Catspaw. You have gained a new fan.

Good morning everyone! We had a wonderful weekend here in Jersey. Hope you all did too. I am about to show my ignorance, I think. Since I've been here many of you have been referring to "tiple". What's a "tiple" please??

Anna

Anna, you may be sorry you asked that! I'll give you a short answer before suggesting you check out the numerous tipple references in the forum.
Looks like a ukekele. Has 10 strings, 4 courses, sounds kinda thin and tinny. Was known as "Martin's Folly" around their company. Can be had in better antique and junk stores everywhere. We've got one at Encore Music in Toronto that they can't GIVE away!
Blame Catspaw!
pronounced "Tee-Play".

Golly, I've always frequented (what I thought was) the better junk shops, & ain't NEVER seen a tipple in one o them! If it could be had real cheap I'd a bought one just for ol' time's sake, ya know? What w/given my hx w/Tipples & Martin factory visits in my foolish youth (as opposed to my current -perhaps very foolish- middle age)'n all..

Cheers, BK (Tipple-less in the toolies!)

Dear annap, I'm having so many weather related web problems right now that I hesitate to even try this, but for everything you never wanted to know about tiples, CLICK HERE and become another tiple non-expert, if it works.
