Subject: Ceilidh musician 26th July Sheffield?? From: CharleyR Date: 20 Jul 08 - 06:44 PM Hi all, Hoping someone can help... my ceilidh band are in need of a stand in musician for a gig next Saturday (26th) in Sheffield - since accepting the booking both our fiddle player and flute/whistle player have become unavailable, so we're looking for a suitable replacement, ideally a fiddle or woodwind player, or someone who plays open-tuned guitar and can cope without a bass player (I normally play guitar in the band but can swop to fiddle). It's a relatively early finish (9.30ish, starting playing at 7.45) so not too bad for anyone travelling from further away. The rest of the band are melodeon, guitar and percussion, we're an English ceilidh band but the repertoire isn't particularly trad English, and we're all recently ex-CeilidhSoc so used to working in scratch bands/with musicians we've not worked with before/met before... Please post/PM if you might be able to help. Thanks! |
