hello..I am writing a paper on WW1 and 2 and I need quotes...My grandma sang this WW2 song and would like to use that line, but I need more info. on the song to be able to use it...Here is a bit more of the song :

One of our planes was missing, two hours overdue, One of our planes was missing, with all its gallant crew...The radio sets were humming, we waited for a word and a voice broke thru that humming, and this is what we heard: Coming in on a wing and a prayer, coming in on a wing and a prayer, with a full crew aboard and our trust in the lord, we're coming in on a wing and a prayer...

If anyone could help me ASAP...the paper is due tomorrow...that would be great!! Thanx, Bri

Written by (Harold?) Adamson and Jimmy McHugh. Earliest mention I found was 1943. Sorry, don't have words.

We're coming in on a wing and a prayer
We're coming in on a wing and a prayer
Tho' there's one motor gone we will still carry on
We're coming in on a wing and a prayer

What a show, what a fight
Yes we really hit our target for tonight
How we sing as we fly through the air
Look below there's a field over there
With a full crew abroad and our trust in the Lord
We're coming in on a wing and a prayer

Well, I will add what little I know to John's information. Actually, this is Gene's territory. If he is anywhere near the computer tonight, I am sure you will get the definitive version. (As an old school teacher, I will grumble at you, "Why'd you wait until the last minute?!!" ~~just teasing.) Glad to be of help.

Thank you..and whoever Gene is, I hope he is near the computer...I think what John Hindsill gave was enough, but more would be helpful. Lol...my teacher says that to me all the time, Dale! Thanx again...Bri
