This new Festival had quite a good start. The weather was kind, the surroundings superb, the infrastructure very sound and the lineup wasn't bad for a start-up Festival.
It augers well for the future, and the Sunray Folk Club will continue to support and promote it.

Interesting thread developing at http://www.dorsetecho.co.uk/search/display.var.2420880.0.music_festival_broke_after_fans_stay_away.php
Hope this is not a sign of things to come for other events!

The Sunray Folk Club will continue to promote Folk events in the area and provide an excellent monthly club despite the rather unsavory goings on.
The club makes no judgement at this time, until the facts are known.

Show of Hands, Tim van Eyken, and a pretty seaside town. What could possibly go wrong?

Maybe the UK festival scene is already saturated? Because at £30 for a two day season ticket, it wasn't too expensive.

"Headlining will be Show of Hands with Miranda Sykes plus other artists to include Lou Rhodes, Megson, Kerfuffle, 3 Daft monkeys, Tim Van Eyken... All audience areas will be under cover of marquees." says the publicity.

Maybe it's a lesson that when starting a new festival it's better to live within your means. I've been to three start up festivals in the last couple of years and they were all terrific: and have come back in following years and grown organically.
