While Tom Rush did cover the Remember Song, Steve Walters wrote it and should get credit. I've noticed this happening a lot. Often when you google lyrics, they're credited to someone who performed them rather than the actual song writer.

Todd Snider's song Missing You came into my head the day my brother died:

Tune is the Muckin' of Geordie's Byre, and I have modified this by substituting the name of any friend who can remember a lot of the words (or has notebooks and notebooks of words) and "ATM statement" for "a packet of fags" because on this side of the pond the word "fag" changes meaning.
I thought this was Hamish Imlach, but it appears to be attributed to anon on his recording.

Bill Caddick's 'Sunny Memories' album - inspired by a collection of Pre WW1 photographs he found in a Junk Shop has a PILE of great songs , the Title track being probably the best that fits in this thread
