They are supporting Moussu T e Lei jovents

The Hut People    www.myspace.com/thehutpeople are a Piano Accordion and Percussion duo that comprise of :

Sam Pirt (accordion & Feet) who plays with 422 who won the BBC Radio 2 Young folk awards a few years back. Sam is a very experienced musician who is well established in the folk world.

Gary Hammond (Percussion) who for the past 12 years has recorded and toured with The Beautiful South. He has worked with Nina Simone and many other groups and set ups within the world music and jazz/pop world.

They both have a love of Scandinavian, English, European folk music and a love for Rhythm which comes together with an accordion/multi percussion twist.

They have been making fast in-roads into the world music and folk music scene in England. So find out what all the fuss is about. Come along, do a live review, an interview, take some pictures or just enjoy the music.

Am I mistaken, wasn't Sam Pirt one of the young musicians that did a "Mudcat Tour" of the states back back around 2000 or 2001, when there was a Mudcat Radio Broadcast every week (and sombody named Marymac was on it)? If my recollection is correct, he was very good!
