This morning I sat through about 3/4 of the movie (Doris Day's debut) "Romance on the High Seas" because Calypsonian Sir Lancelot was listed in the cast. Did he sing? No! Jack Carson (otherwise a fine actor) sang the song, "Run, Run, Run," while Lancelot simply played the guitar accompaniment. Let me just say that Carson as a singer is no Sir Lancelot. Whatta waste of a great talent and my time.

Has something like this happened to you?

Not to me but to my Big Brother, back in the 50's. He stood in a cinema queue for hours to see Jerry Lee Lewis in "High School Confidential". All Jerry Lee did in the film was to ride into town in the back of a car during the opening Titles.

Cheers'

Not even in the same ballpark, but if you liked Zack Efron's singing in "Hairspray", and bit the bullet to watch "High School Musical" so that you could hear him--too bad. The vocals for his character were recorded before he was even cast for the part by someone else.
