Because I sense my time as PeterT's interim poster is coming to a close, I ask for your indulgence, while I share an inspiration which came to me when at a concert of sacred Tibetan music, performed by monks exiled in India:

Because I revere all that is sacred
My sanctum/altar is not large enough --
Therefore, my home becomes a sanctuary --
Each room with its treaures from different worlds:
Tibetan, Native American, our Earth Mother, and others
Almost like the Stations of the Cross
I go from one to the other giving thanks to
Those gods/goddesses who are the Mother/Father God of my heart.
Namaste!

Thank you dear friends. Now, maybe you can tell us about your sanctuaries?

The woods. And they have to be real woods, with live animals in them, not just some trees in a park. About the only time I actually feel like one of God's creatures.

Then there are those days when you take sanctuary sitting on the pot for a few minutes!

Wow kat,

You've hit upon a major philosophy that I have followed for a while. Years ago, a friend said something to me that has stayed with me since. To have love in your home, fill it with things you love. This is something I have strived for. It's not always easy. Junk does manage to pile up at times. Wherever I look in my house, I see something that brings me pleasure and peace.

Except where I keep my bills. I try to keep those out of sight ;-)

Good morning and love to all. annap

Thanks, Annap. I think of it as a reminder or awareness of the Creator or sacredness in all things, even those bills!:-)

Bert, thanks for the bit of levity and Truth!

kat
