I'll be heading to Farm Fest this weekend for a rather different type of festival. Lots of parking lot picking and a rather interesting way of running the Main Stage. You sort of make your own festival.   Website for Farm Fest:

http://www.farm-fest.com/

Mudcat member "leftydee" will be there with his great band from Detroit "The Motor City Sidestrokers" Check them out at:

http://www.myspace.com/motorcitysidestrokers

I will be there with the ultimate Festival vehicle ~ a 1952 Ford F1. If you want to take a look at this wonderful vehicle scroll down on the Farm Fest webpage until you come to a series of photos. The bus is the third from the bottom.

Any Mudcat members that show up at the bus can earn a free diploma from the Posey Lake Akademy of Musicology. Pass a simple one question, test (multiple choice) and you will earn a PHD from the Akademy.

The BUMMER ~ O.K. We'er located back in the sticks in north east lower Michigan. Way to far for most ~ but at least you can dream.

Wish I was closer. Sounds like a great one. I read over the site and I like what I read. All the best and hope the weather is great.

Beer ~~~ also wish you were closer as it really a fun festival.
I spent a good part of the day getting the Old Bus loaded and
ready for the trip. Only 45 miles but in a 1952 bus it seems
like quite a distance.   Hard to decide on which instruments
to take but finally ended up with my Vega Long neck banjo,
Larrivee parlor guitar, a couple of homemade ukes and some
pennywhistles.
Heading out tomorrow morning which will give me almost
5 days at the festival.
