Joe Stead has posted a couple of videos of the late lamented Calennig on YouTube.

They're from Highway (BBC Sunday nights, presented by Sir Harry Secombe) about 25 years ago.

Can y Fari is the song we sing with the Llantrisant Mari Lwyd, who is in the video.

And this is A Glamorgan Litany

Calennig are known on here as Dr Price and Dame Pattie Smith EPNS.

Enjoy

Splott Man

And two fine upstanding Catters they are too. Thanks for that, Splott. Always loved Calennig (onstage or off) when I ran into them at festivals & the like. Enjoy -

Thanks for that Ned - a real blast from the past eh? I never saw Pat & Mick perform as Calennig although we have recordings. Brilliant video. Was that the same Mari that came to our wedding?

Try keeping a straight face when you're under the horse!! If you see what I mean.

I first discovered us on YouTube when Joe emailed me and asked for the names of the songs. My grateful thanks to Joe for putting us up on YT - he's one hell of a dear friend!

PS: Don't we look young on Highway?

"A Glamorgan Litany...

That is a work of art."

Mick researched the verses and wrote the tune. He made the Litany into a lovely, stunning, beautiful piece.

Hear Hear. Mick revitalised the folk scene down hear in Wales and he was the collecter too. He wrote some lovely tunes and with Pattie as Calennig the two of them made some lovely music. Sadly it was ended by a stroke and Calennig was brought to an end.

Glyn
