Just got back after spending an extra night at Drayton Leisure Centre, who were keen to have another "session" last night. Great fun, and a surprising number of people, 10 or so campervans/caravans, still on the site at 1100 this morning !! Stayed in the bar last night until about midnight, with lots of singing and instrumentals, from Karen (WFD) and me,Miskin Man and Jilly,a couple from Hereford way( he guitar, she electric piano),a singing-only couple from Minehead way (Mike and Di ),some lovely ladies from Brighton,( Claire and Marion), friends of Binns,Fred and Breton Cap,and a hearty chap from Cardiff with fiddle and guitar!Plus various WAGS and sundry others. Had great fun this morning pushing/pulling vehicles off the muddy ground !This would make a great regular feature (the session !) if DLC continues to be used for camping. No snow today, but we had two VERY low,VERY noisy Harrier flypasts for added interest.

The sessions midday in the Reindeer didn't look as if they happend. By 2pm they certainly weren't.
Bell Sat went on past 4:30 but Sun 2pm there was nothing.
Mind you with the dancing there was little time for much else.
The breakfast sing was a hoot.

We had a really fabulous time and thouroughly enjoyed making our small contributions. The Golf Club is a great place to camp and sing, the only downside is that the bar stayed open so late that I never got to a port and cheese workshop oh well you cant have everything!

Sorry Cresby you must have gone to the lounge in the Bell on Sunday as we joined the session in the bar from about 1.30 and didn't leave until 4.30 when we left to catch our train.

It was great to see you all there. Thank goodness the snow stayed away this time. Off to Germany in the morning for a week's recovery hols. Looking forward to the bratwurst. Should have learnt Jock O' Dreams 'ode to a brattie!'

It was a lovely weekend - with the additional bonus of the weather! I took a few photos, though not as many as usual as I was a bit under the weather. Will try to post the photos here via blue clicky if I can get it right!

Well done to Merek'n'Dary and everyone who helped to make it such a great weekend!

Many thanks to all who brought prizes, chocolate and bought raffle tickets! The MudRaffle raised £40 towards MudCat funds which I'll be transferring in the next day or so. Must admit that I ate more chocolate at the Mudgather than I have for a long time, we finished the tin that Merek'n'Dary contributed at the late night sing at the Golf Centre on Saturday night.

So here's the Mudcat Register, just one list of all the MudCatters I spotted at the fesival with asterisks (or gold stars) next to those who managed to get along to the MudGather.

We might not have made the gather, but it was lovely to see many of you and to make new friends. Wish we could have stayed longer on Sunday but the grands called - staying overnight as their Mum was on an early start.

Hi all

Now back from a brill holiday on the Rhein ... our good Banbury weather stayed with us and we were drinking wine and Asbach brandy on our balcony in our T-shirts! Got really into the German Oompah spirit .... Had to prevent Merek from bringing back a cuckoo clock!

Anyway, so glad thst you enjoyed the Festival. Wild Flying Dove the photos are terrific. Please can we use them in our website gallery and send the one of the Mayor to her?

Cheers! Prost! Merek'n'Dary

You're more than welcome to use the photos. I'll need to email them to you. Shall I use the email address from the festival website or another one - let me know. See you at Bedworth if not before. Love Karen xx

Very disappointed that I couldn't get to see Bob Fox/Stu Luckley & Tannahill Weavers as the only way was to purchase a day season which I was not prepared to do as I was otherwise occupied being on hol from Ireland.

The Fri night 'Peeping Tom' ceili was good and I enjoyed the French dance workshop Sat.
