Subject: BS: Exmoor Border Morris 10th Anniversary
From: GUEST,shantyjohn

Just got home from a fantastic weekend of Morris dancing (and clog) as a guest of Exmoor Border Morris in the lovely Heddon Valley on Exmoor and a tour around North Devon.

Many thanks to EBM members who must have spent so much energy and enthusiasm in the planning and execution of the event - it shows that our (British) traditions are not only alive and kicking, but also that there are still folks out there who are willing to put themselves out for the benefit of others.

Congratulations to any EBM membes who are also Mudcatters.

John Owen

I was there too and had a brilliant time - I have to agree about the outstandingly good organisation of this weekend. Lots of silly things to do, picturesque places to see, and lots of dancing, with their guests very well looked after. Thank you, Exmoor, and I wish you many more happy decades.

Thank you, John and Kate, for your praise of our Anniversary Weekend. I think I'm probably the only member of Exmoor Border who is a 'catter but I'll pass on your comments to the side.

One of my most memorable moments was 'coming out' as a Pink Bunny.

Sadly many people had left before the (rather unexpected) grand finale - 300 or so minis in the "Legendary Mini Rally of 2008" screeching down the 1 in 4 hill with brakes burning and horns blaring. How fortunate they didn't arrive earlier when we were doing that '5-way' Worcester Monkey earlier.

Thanks to all the sides who came and helped us celebrate.

Sue

Hi Sue, sorry we couldn't be there, it's the cost of busfare from Canada that kills us.
Sounds like you had a good time though.
Happy 10th from Orange Peel Morris.
JohnB

Hi Sue and others
I have been fishing around for pix and other stuff and came across this site so here I am.
Thank you for your good wishes and glad those who attended enjoyed it - it took some organisation but it obviously paid off. As a grand finale we are going to put together a cd of photos and video clips for all sides to enjoy. Our website has been updated with some photos and there is a film on u tube of us doing Porlock and Lynmouth.
