Sorry - that should be "The Leaving of Liverpool" and "The Holy Ground". Both songs start with "Fare thee well ... - I'm sure there will be others too.

I am interested in getting the lyrics to Rankin Family's "Fare Thee Well Love" which is not in your database. Does anyone out there have it?

I'm looking for the version of "Fare thee well" by Bob Dylan (actually most of it was ripped off from "the leaving of liverpool") but most importantly, I'm also looking for the Chords. (as I said in my earier message) if anyone has thes, it would be most appreciated. It was also done by none other than pete seeger on the "carnegie hall" 1962 double album.

and it goes a little somthin' like this (hit it)

Fare thee well my darlin' true
I'm leavin in the hour of the morn.
I'm bound for the bay of mexico,
or maybe the coast of californ'
and it's fare thee well,
my own true love.
We'll meet again another day another time.
it's mot the leavin'
that's a grievin' me
but my darlin'
whose bound to stay behind.

The words are in the DT as Leaving of Liverpool (new version) or file name LEAVLIV2 We don't usually list chords since people disagree too often

To amydrag. I have the Rankin family CD with Fare Thee Well on it. Do you still need the lyrics? If so I can post them early next week.

There are a lot songs beginning with 2fare thee well..." One of them is "Fare The Well Enniskillen". It is also reknown as "The Enniskillen Dragoons". Both version are Irish and f. e. sung by the Dubliners and The Furey Bros. &Tommy Makem

I have what you're looking for:

Fare thee well, love. Fare thee well, love.
Far away you must go.
Take your heart. Love. Take your heart, love.
Will we never meet again no more.

Far across, love, far across, love,
O'er the mountains and country wide,
Take my heart, love, take my heart, love.
No one knows the tears I've cried.

So I'll drink today, love. I'll sing to you, love.
In pauper's glory, my time I'll bide.
No home or ties, love, a restless rover,
If I can't have you by my side.

Oh, come back, love. Oh, come back, love.
The sun and moon refuse to shine.
Since I've gone, love, gone away, love,
This lonely girl has had no peace of mind.

So I'll drink today, love. I'll sing to you, love.
In pauper's glory, my time I'll bide.
No home or ties, love, a restless rover,
If I can't have you by my side.

Fare thee well, love. Fare thee well, love.
Far away, you must go
Take my heart, love. Take your heart, love.
We will never meet again no more.
We will never meet again no more.
We will never meet again no more.

P.S. I personally think this is one of the most beautiful
songs I have ever heard. KE
