This event is going to be amazing. The variety of acts are excellent. I hope this is as good as Osmotherley.

BTW I will not partake in ceildh without rigorous training this time.

Apparantly, weekend tickets are only £35, not £40 as it said on the website. Now that has to be a bargain to see so many great artists, plus all the rest that's going on.

Shame we won't be at Roots North until Sunday...we're playing in Lockerbie on Friday & Saturday! Which is a shame (in some ways) as I would like to have seen a lot of the bands who are on.

Apologies from us folks, due to a family illness for Andy, we've had to drop out of Roots North this weekend.

I'll still be there on PA duties, so come and say hello as I'll need cheering up I suspect...not playing is difficult!!!

Many apologies...keep an eye on the roots north website for the latest programming...

I know it's not the same but it might help your disappointment just a little?

Cheers

As we're in Lockerbie, you are welcome to use our house (though we are 5 miles outside Northallerton). Obviously you would be welcome to stay even if we were here!

(We are more or less on the way to Leeming Bar so you could maybe share lifts with The Leveller.)

Just got back and it was a fantastic weekend - great town, excellent weather and some amazing and extremely varied music.

Too many highlights to mention them all but, especially brilliant was Lucy Ward who did three wonderful, emotionally-charged sets (she really is a star of the future and would be a worthy winner of the Young Folk Musician of the Year Competition) and also the amazing virtuosity of Landermason, a superbly radical set from Gordon Tyrell and the brilliant songs and musicianship of Richard Grainger and Chris Parkinson - in fact, there wasn't a mediocre act all weekend. Plus we did an Africaqn drumming and a ukelele workshop - Phew, got to go and sit down in a dark room and calm down.

Thanks to Richard and Jeanette and Adrian O for making it such a magical and friendly weekend - can't wait for Ryedale.

Wendy said that the Sunday evening in The Golden Lion was fun too.....but some of us had to babysit!
