Subject: RE: Bender survivors ?? From: nutty Date: 02 Sep 08 - 03:57 AM Open Mike - the 'bender' is a weekend held in a small hamlet on the North Yorks Moors (UK) where everyone 'works' very hard singing and making music while raising money for charity. |

Subject: RE: Bender survivors ?? From: ossonflags Date: 02 Sep 08 - 12:34 PM Absolutly fantastic!!! First met Mu and Jim many years ago when they ran Plough Folk Club in Whitby. It was my first time to the Bender and wont be my last. The hospitallity and warmth shown by the whole of thw Wilkinson familly was second to none;they made everyone welcome especially first timers - how do they remember everyones name? The whole weekend was fantastic and standard of singing was brilliant, ok, did it matter if you waited three hours for a song? plenty of good choruses to get yer teeth/voice into. Great breakfasts and sandwiches.and beer. Most of all it was the great sense of warmth and comradeship that came from all attending the weekend. a big thanks to all old and new friends. |
