Tech: on Firefox Mudcat BS section won't load

When I go to Mudcat forum, the screen stalls on a Google banner ad between the music and bs section. It won't load that ad or the rest of the page. I can get into the full forum page on safari. Does that banner ad have to be there?

It looks like it's already been removed - all I see between music and BS is a couple of ruled lines. (I'm using IE7)

See if you can mix all threads, rather than have the separate sections.

It is possible to set Mudcat to not display the BS section... I 'think' that is done within each browser by cookie. Could you have accidently set that?

(I use 'Proxomitron' web filter, which will allow or reject the Google banner ad, depending on my setting, but it all seems fine)

Hi, Alice -
Try this:

• from Firefox, click this link and go to Membership.
  
• Look at the "radio buttons" at the bottom of the page. Make sure the first is checked "yes" and the bottom two "no"
  
• Click "submit"

If that doesn't work, it may be your browser is hanging on the Google ads, and I guess there's no much I can do about that.

I have never set it to block the BS section.
It just sometimes hangs up on the google ad in the middle of the page.
Since last night, it kept timing out trying to load it.
Doesn't always happen, though.

Try going to Firefox add-ons and installing Adblock Plus. I never see any ads at all.

Alice, I use Firefox almost exclusively, and have never had any problem. It surely must be something on your machine.

JiK has commented on that behaviour many times in the past - it's not new.
