Subject: RE: Good Intent Rochester UK 27th +28th Sept From: Dead Horse Date: 15 Sep 08 - 10:39 AM If you see a car that has its headlights on all day, but only sidelights at night, THAT is a Volvo! I shall likely be there on both days unless "Her Indoors" has other ideas. |
Subject: RE: Good Intent Rochester UK 27th +28th Sept From: romany man Date: 15 Sep 08 - 10:27 AM Whats a volvo and why do you need 3 is it a folkie thing or a latent need to get into nickin my scrap trade |
Subject: RE: Good Intent Rochester UK 27th +28th Sept From: GUEST,Essex Girl Date: 15 Sep 08 - 08:53 AM Richard, are you going into the motor repair business? I'll be there on the Saturday. |
Subject: RE: Good Intent Rochester UK 27th +28th Sept From: Girl Friday Date: 15 Sep 08 - 07:26 AM We are going to be there en force on Saturday. You'll be safe from us on Sunday, but you have Richard to fall back on no doubt ! |
Subject: RE: Good Intent Rochester UK 27th +28th Sept From: melodeonboy Date: 14 Sep 08 - 03:08 PM "Target for the day is probably gonna be Richard, but TDL may be on the receiving end of a few stray remarks. If it's a success, I may give 'em the full heckle :-)" Sounds good to me! Which day, by the way? |
Subject: RE: Good Intent Rochester UK 27th +28th Sept From: Dead Horse Date: 14 Sep 08 - 12:54 PM I have every intent (oops, a pun) to be there in full heckling mode. Target for the day is probably gonna be Richard, but TDL may be on the receiving end of a few stray remarks. If it's a success, I may give 'em the full heckle :-) |
Subject: RE: Good Intent Rochester UK 27th +28th Sept From: VirginiaTam Date: 14 Sep 08 - 12:10 PM By no means Kentish (not yet anyway) or anyway near best at anything, but I plan to be there part of both days (hopefully). Looking forward to hearing lots of good music both days. Going to search for a B&B within walking distance of the Good Intent, now. |
Subject: RE: Good Intent Rochester UK 27th +28th Sept From: Richard Bridge Date: 14 Sep 08 - 11:51 AM Very witty Melodeonboy! And no Growler, apart from the bits I removed after the engine did its China syndrome, it is now definitely only three Volvos (unlsess you count the spare twin cam engine in my garage needing a rebuld, the spare M46 gearbox that alas will not tolerate the engines I have got, and the M90 gearbox and ancilliaries that I got on Saturday to put in the silver one) |
Subject: RE: Good Intent Rochester UK 27th +28th Sept From: growler Date: 14 Sep 08 - 11:02 AM Richard, I understood that you still had four Volvos, but only thee radiators |
Subject: RE: Good Intent Rochester UK 27th +28th Sept From: Girl Friday Date: 13 Sep 08 - 05:34 PM What if we promise to sing you the hand-cranking song? |
Subject: RE: Good Intent Rochester UK 27th +28th Sept From: melodeonboy Date: 13 Sep 08 - 02:07 PM Se ci sia un capo di tutti capodastri, dev'essere tu, Ricardo! |
Subject: RE: Good Intent Rochester UK 27th +28th Sept From: Richard Bridge Date: 13 Sep 08 - 01:25 PM Now (evil smirk firmly affixed) if TDL as well as "Don" (capo di tutti capodastri) Thompson can arrange an alternative engagement we can all come out from behind the curtains, and attend... So long as there is no margarine, if you get my drift... Did I mention I now have 3 not 4 Volvos... |
Subject: RE: Good Intent Rochester UK 27th +28th Sept From: GUEST,woodsie Date: 13 Sep 08 - 10:26 AM Shame I always enjoy your material Don. |
Subject: RE: Good Intent Rochester UK 27th +28th Sept From: Don(Wyziwyg)T Date: 12 Sep 08 - 07:49 PM Wrong weekend for me I'm afraid. I'm taking two clients and their carers up to Norfolk for a week from 27th, so I'll be looking for clubs in the Wisbech/Kings Lynne area that week. Anybody out there know of a few, within say 10 miles. Dijit |
Subject: RE: Good Intent Rochester UK 27th +28th Sept From: GUEST,Woodsie Date: 12 Sep 08 - 04:03 AM I will try and coax the great dave Kenningham to attend. He is nowadays usually "otherwise engaged" That's what love does to a man!!! |

Subject: RE: Good Intent Rochester UK 27th +28th Sept From: Girl Friday Date: 06 Sep 08 - 08:21 PM Hi Rafflesbear. These occasions are usually singarounds, but very good singarounds. The best of Kent Folkies will be there - even TDL. Growler - these guys are great- suggest some negotiation here- they've played the Man Of Kent. Karen and Dal might like to book them for your birthday. |
Subject: RE: Good Intent Rochester UK 27th +28th Sept From: GUEST,Rafflesbear Date: 06 Sep 08 - 05:23 PM Tell us more - is there a formal programme of events - guests - singaround - morris etc ? Norcsalordie are available that weekend (at a fee) |
Subject: Good Intent Rochester UK 27th +28th Sept From: growler Date: 06 Sep 08 - 05:08 PM Having completely buggered up the previous posting, I thought that I would try again. There is to be held, on the 27th and 28th of September, a beer and folk weekend, at the above venue, from 12.30 onwards. Saturday will be hosted by John Barden and Sunday by ' Rough and Ready', A rare treat by anybody's standards |
