Subject: Pan Guitar Info From: Jayto Date: 10 Sep 08 - 11:51 AM When I was 16 (about 1988) I bought a Pan acoustic guitar from my Uncle. It is a Gibson Dove copy and is a very good guitar despite neglect and abuse through the years. I used it as a "campfire guitar" so it was not always treated the best lol. If I was going somewhere I knew there was a chance of a guitar getting ruined like camping and fishing or 4 wheeler riding that was the guitar I would take. I know nothing about Pan guitars. I used to see them alot in Pawn shops and places like that but haven't seen any in years. I googled them but couldn't really find much info. Does anyone know anything about these guitars? I love the guitar and I am going to get some work done to it. The bracing has seperated from the body and the action is high due to the neck warping some. I will probably sink more into the guitar than what it is worth but it has a very high sentimental value so I really dont care. My Uncle is about to pass away from cancer so that just makes it even more special. I remember being a small small kid watching him play that guitar. I first wanted to play watching him play that Pan and my Dad play his Epiphone. He had the guitar for years so it at least an early to mid 70's model if not earlier. I would appreciate any info anyone has about Pan guitars. I know it is Japanese but other than that I am lost about them. |
