Subject: Sweden's Nat'l Instrument:: Nyckelharpa From: open mike Date: 17 Sep 08 - 01:36 PM The Key Fiddle or Bowed Hurdy Gurdy as it is also called, can be found on the Swedish postage stamps (75 Ore) and the currency (50 Kronor note) as well as at many folk festivals, concerts, spelmanslag, stemmor, etc. see www.nyckelharpa.org, www.nyckelharpa.net, www.nyckelharpa.com for more info. there are other threads on this..but i was inspired to start this one in response to a "national instrument of Enland" thread.
