Subject: A Funny Thing Happened...... From: Acorn4 Date: 19 Sep 08 - 07:35 PM I find that at the end of the Festival season, I've always got a couple of funny things that happened. These two are both from Sidmouth:- We went into the bar of the Bedford late on Saturday, and , as usual, the place was heaving. A bloke, very, very the worse for wear on the booze front was staggering out of the singaround, hardly able to stand up, grinning and clasping the neck of his guitar in one hand. On looking at his guitar more closely I saw it had only two strings on it! We were doing a bit of busking along the prom, and all of a sudden, a bloke appeared alongside me and asked if he could borrow my guitar to do a song. He did a very good rendition of "Me and Bobby McGee" - I asked if he wanted to do another one, but he said that he had to go back to work and needed to "catch the wagon up". It was in fact a dustman on his round, who had stoppped to do the song and then had to run to catch up the cart so that he could carry on with his round. I'm sure there must be other comical episodes from the Festival season, so let's post them up to give ourselves a chuckle as the autumn sets in. |
