Subject: RE: Autumn Equinox From: ClaireBear Date: 09 Sep 10 - 02:06 PM I awoke this morning at 4am to peer up at the starry sky (my son and I are tenting in our meadow for the summer; it doesn't rain between April and late October in California), and there was Orion, right overhead. Top of my list, therefore, is Leo Kretzner's "Bold Orion on the Rise." The words are here somewhere in Mudcatville; and I've found a solitary YouTube, too -- an interpretation I dislike, but it'll supply the tune: Bold Orion on the Rise. Then, shortly after, "All Among the Barley" -- a bit early, but I love it so! |
Subject: RE: Autumn Equinox From: Crow Sister (off with the fairies) Date: 09 Sep 10 - 01:45 PM "19th anniversary of Peter Bellamy's dead" Oo-er, I'll have to sing a Bellamy song then. Oag Ash and Thorn would work. |

Subject: RE: Autumn Equinox From: Crow Sister (off with the fairies) Date: 09 Sep 10 - 01:09 PM Gosh, I searched for Autumn Equinox, and this was the only thread! With the only reply being that from Rowan: R.I.P. Rowan, with the inevitable shedding of leaves and rising of the dark, it's as good a season as can be for leave taking. Anyone got the date/time for this years equinox? Anyone observing this years equinoctal point in there own way? Anyone going to be singing any seasonally pertinent songs? |
Subject: RE: Autumn Equinox From: Rowan Date: 21 Sep 08 - 06:31 PM And while it might be autumnal to those of you north of the equator, it's the Vernal Equinox in Oz. We sing lots of spring songs around now. But anyone who can quote Ivor Cutler can't be be all wrong. Cheers, Rowan |
