It was 22 with Linn and Tom, so 22- L&T + 2 = 22 again.

Drat. Who took the cookie from the cookie jar?

Maeve lost the cookie from the cookie jar. Is it too early to go to sleep?

This should be a really good night!

I'm really looking forward to this. However, I'm just now getting over some bug I picked up between here and Maryland. I've been miserable for three weeks, and I hope no one brings another one to share!

I agree Kendall. I have been bug free since Tuesday and hope to keep it thatway. I will miss Linn and Tom but I am real happy that she is keeping her misery to herself.

Oh gosh -- reading the above notes makes me need to speak out. I really want to come but I have a howling stinking cold --I can come and not hug or touch anyway, and sit by myself and wear a little bell to warn people I might be contagious or I can stay away - which will make me sad but I don't want you all to get sick. I'll see if I feel/sound any better in the am.....

No problem, Deborah. I will put a plastic bag over your head and leave it up to Tom to make sure you continue to breathe.

I have had some additional emails and were it not for the two bottles of champagne which Micca sent for my birthday I might be able to tell you all how many will attend tomorrow night. As it stands...I don't give a damn! But it is 20+.
SINS, who is also 20+

I think I'm more or less over it -- still have a bit of excess snot -- but mostly I need to rest and not get over-stimulated by the great music and and then stay up and get over-tired -- again -- and not have a full Sunday recovery time.

We'll miss the the company and music and conviviality, but maybe I'll be able to ward off the NEXT bug that comes down the pike!

Linn

We'll miss you two but I understand. I fell sound asleep at work when I had the malady. I foolishly took DayQuil.

Get lots of rest and lots of liquids - wine doesn't count. It will hang on for about two weeks if it's the same bug I had.

I suspect a number of people will be grateful that you chose not to spread the wealth, so to speak.
Mary

I survived. The thing I thought might have been an allergy is mostly likely a cold. I'll keep you posted. It's probably Kendall's fault.

The concert was absolutely great. I think there were around 29 people there, unless I counted a cat or two. There were adults and kids and Quasimodal Chorus members which made for some lovely music. The harmonies were almost etherial: perfect notes, but everybody just quiet enough to not 'step on' Cindy and Grey's performance. It wuz like the angels wuz singin' along, if yes get what I'm sayin'. Cindy & Grey made music warm and unique. Irish, Swedish, Indiananish and player/tunewriter-composed fiddle tunes and Cindy's amazing songs. There was a guitar, a flute, a pennywhistle, harmonium, concertina (anglo) and two fiddles. It was joyful to watch them as well as hear them, and I look forward to the next time.

I hope some of the first-timers come back, T'was a glorious time, and it was very good to see CamiSu and son again.

It was just lovely. So nice to see Camisu after all these years. Cindy sang October Song, one of my all time favorites.
We did miss Linn and Tom, and Debra and Tom, but I thank you severely for not bringing more microbes into our midst. If everyone was that considerate, those germs would probably die out.

Awake from my nap. Yes it was a concert to remember. Grey and Cindy so obviously enjoy performing together and their music is perfect. When the harmonies started, I had to sit up and try to remember who was in the audience, Holly always provides lovely harmonies but this was a roomful of magic. Never saw the Captain give anyone a standing ovation, Guess that says it all.
October Song and Salmon River stand out. Grey's stories of Michael Kennedy and his early experiences added a very personal side to the music. The fiddles tunes they played together were pure joy.
I love to sit back in these concerts and watch the music sink into the walls. Lots of happy people sharing.

There was more than an abundance of food. Many thanks to Jacqui and Holly for the clean-up. It was like someone had waved a magic wand and made it all go away.

Thank you for the birthday cakes, CamiSu and Holly. LOL No one knows about the tiny miniature Holly tucked in my freezer just for me. And honest - Chocolate Cake with Chocolate Icing is my favorite - NAna Sullivan used to make it for me when I was a child and it is comfort.

Who do I thank for the flowers under my side window? I looked out and saw what looked like small flowering bush so I put my shoes on and went out to investigate. Lovely red orange flowers, at least a dozen. I had to touch them twice to realize they were plastic and silk. So did someone leave them as a charming offering or is one of my neighbors missing a display? The wind was wild last night.

I did enjoy the three children who came with their parents, All eager to be part of the festivities, all comfortable in the setting, and really good company.

SINS

Well, it was well worth the 6 hours of driving. It rained for 110 miles on the way back and Gorham was without power when we went through. But we got home safely by 3 am.

Thanks so much!

Thank you, Sinsull and Jacqui, for an extraordinary evening. What a delight to bask in the music Cindy and Grey created for us; whether their vocals, the twin fiddles, whistle, flute, guitar or harmonium. Their banter and the high standard of music reflected the respect and affection the artists have for each another and the music. Finestkind, they are.

What a varied and involved audience you generated with this concert's modest advertising. Some of us have known one or the other of the performers for years untold, while others had never heard them before. The children were interested and interesting. I hope we see them there again.

Thanks also for letting me stay over, Sinsull, rather than having to drive home in the dark and impending storm. When I arrived safely home Sunday morning despite wild wind and dropped tree branches, part of our farm stand had disengaged and dropped, like Auntie Em's farmhouse, onto my rose and peony bed.

I left with much more music than I could pay for thanks to gifts from a few treasured friends. You know who you are, and I'll not forget your kindness. Thank you, with all my music-loving heart!

maeve

Maeve is the perfect house guest. Cleans the kitchen surreptitiously and then creeps off to bed. Leaves before the sun QUIETLY (as did Grey and Cindy). So quietly that after breakfast Jeri went upstairs to retrieve her belongings and was pussyfooting around afraid that she would wake Maeve.
As she left, I said I was going to take a nap. Says Jeri - don't forget you still have a houseguest. I asked who and she said Maeve - she is still asleep upstairs. LOL.

I am a sucker for children but I have to admit, those three were exceptionally bright and mature for their size yet were completely at ease. Remarkable. Next time they take Alice with them - all three bonded with her and had great fun scratching her back while she licked her paws...then STOP and watch her complain.
