I always make time to listen to Messrs. Simpson and Peat on a Monday night and enjoy the relatively broad range of music played on the show. Long may they continue to broadcast!

I wish I was as lucky as you! Still, TV on Monday nights provides her with back-to-back soaps from 6.30 until 9.00, so I get to listen in relative peace.

I think having the two presenters definitely gives it the edge - banter between Messrs Peat and Simpson is very entertaining and also with Nigel who does the gig guides.

It was the Folkwaves 20th birthday bash on last nights show. A great live performance by Sam Sweeney and Hannah James from the excellent band Kerfuffle.

I am another fan of folkwaves - as you say 2 presenters really make it good - BUT WHERE IS IT ??????????

For quite awhile nearly all English Folk Music seems to only be on the old listen again site - which was a hell of a job to find when I changed my computer this year. Now that has only 4 programmes on it for the last week or so!!!!!!!!

Has anyone got any information about why English folk is being given the short straw for such a long time on the listen again sites?

If there is another thread with information can you direct me

For me to listen live in China, I would have to listen from 3am - 5am - not something I can do.

Any news specifically about when we will be able to listen to folkwaves again?

Just a tip - I have managed to find out that Free Sound Recorder can now record real time on a VISTA laptop.

First time I have posted on Mudcat - so hello to many friends I haven't seen for a long time

Just click here:

BBC Radio Derby's FOLKWAVES

..then click the 'Listen Again' button, on the lower right hand side, and it will take you to the page where you simply click on the Folkwaves title, and voila.   

I've just tried it myself, and the programme is working fine.

Actually, I'm having a few problems with the new BBC iplayer - I tried to listen again to Genevieve Tudor's Sunday programme using "listen again" and it wouldn't play on my PC which has got XP, but I could play it on my laptop which runs Vista. Not sure if any techies will have an explanation for this?

Hi Dave - thanks for the link to Thank goodness it's folk, I didn't know your programme.

I am also thrilled to see you are broadcasting a number of the Sheffield carols - so I am going to download it. I used to try to get to the one at Outerbridge on the Friday evening it was a great experience. I would park outside and at the end of the evening go to sleep in my camper van.

I am now downloading so many many thanks for not missing the opportunity

hello all,

you lot keep on about downloading folkwaves, can i do this on vista? it would save me a fortune on itunes or other sites, so far itunes is the best i have found for folk.
i would love to be able to download radio and then put some songs into my playlists.

haven't listened to mick, for a while, i keep meaning to on iplayer, but you know how it gets. used to love it when we lived in notts.

I don't know how many people realise that we have brought FOLKWAVES back on the internet via our website.

UK Folk Music put the programme out monthly and the October edition was the sixth.
