FOLK AND WORLD MUSIC PROGRAMMES ON "ROCKET FM" LEWES
Rocket FM, the community radio station for Lewes and the Ouse valley will be back on the air for the Bonfire season again this year for its eighth year. The frequency will be the usual one of 87.8FM with the facility to listen to the programmes on-line from the station's website at http://www.rocketfm.org.uk/ and follow the "Listen Live!" link at the top of the navigation menu.
Once again the station's folk music and world music programmes will be presented by Vic Smith.
Here is his schedule:-
ROCKET FM
Sun Oct 12 8-10pm Folk Music
Wed Oct 15 9-10pm World Music
Sun Oct 19 8-10pm Folk Music
Wed Oct 22 9-10pm World Music
Sun Oct 29 8-10pm Folk Music
Wed Oct 29 9-10pm World Music
Sun Nov 02 8-10pm Folk Music

This means that he has been allocated 11 hours or more than one day of the station's transmission time. Vic says he has plenty of ideas for the features but with eleven hours to fill, he is still open to suggestions for ideas for inclusion in the programme, recent albums to play on the programme etc?..
Suggestions to Vic at folk@brighton.co.uk

Not really, Myspace sites and radio programmes serve entirely different functions.

New unheard things perhaps?
Yes, there will be plenty new and unfamiliar stuff - particularly in the World Music programmes

ANyway best of luck with it all,it looks exciting and maybe a little daunting to take on putting it together.
Thanks

"Not really, Myspace sites and radio programmes serve entirely different functions."

My space to me provies a way of looking into everybody elses music collection and ideas.
Like I used to be able to when me mates had records and I got the chance to go thru them.
Radio you just get what you are given.

Subject: Life is not without risk
From: GUEST,Mark Starkey
Date: 31 Oct 08 - 05:31 AM

Good Morning,
I listened this morning to the story that a lawsuit may be taken out against Cliffe BS. Naturally no-one plans to get injured and one can feel compassion to this person.
However
My observation is this: Since all statutory and commonsense safety obligations had been met the only remaining factor is a pure accident. The person chose to be there and was unlucky enough to suffer the consequences 'that life is not without risk'. Since the risks are apparent to even a casual onlooker, and this person was not casual, it follows that they accepted the 'remaining risks' of attendance or they should have left the area.
