Two of my best friends were killed by lightning while fishing and one of them left
Hoyt Axton's cassette tape at my house. I never heard this song until I played the
tape at a private wake for them. We all had goose bumps.

For all of you Hoyt Axton fans out there, the site that Mountain Dog refers to is at www.eyekon.com/hoytaxton/index.html. He's not kidding. Even if you know have all of Hoyt's albums but two and even if you didn't wish him Happy Birthday on 3/25 and even if you didn't follow him all over So Cal in the early 60's to try to learn to play Lightin' Bar Blues and even if -- the web site is something to behold from a purist's point of view. Stone is truly a fanatic and I rank somewhere in the top ten or fifteen.

Try it , you'll like it. The album is on A & M records.

For Hoyt fans, there's a true fanatic who's recently launched an Axton-only web page titled "Hoy Axton Explodes" I came across it by way of an Alta Vista seach by keying in his first and last name. The web- meister is working on transcriptions of lyrics, a 20+ tune songbook, an exhaustive discography, etc. Well worth a look!

Hoyt Axton wrote and recorded "Flash of Fire" on his album "Fearless", released in 1976. Sorry, don't know the record label.
