Subject: Dave Gibb & Wendy Arrowsmith Tomorrow!
From: Banjiman
Date: 30 Nov 07 - 09:30 AM

Dave Gibb & Wendy Arrowsmith are playing some songs in a small pub in the Yorkshire Dales tomorrow (Saturday Dec 1st) at 8.00pm. The pub is so small that they have been trying not to tell anyone so as not to disturb the locals. However they made the mistake of telling me!

If you are passing The George & Dragon in Hudswell near Richmond tomorrow evening you might want to pop in. Just be careful which seat you sit in. The ones next to the fire belong to Bernard & Geordie.

....and don't tell anyone that I told you about it.

sssshhhhhh!

Paul

Subject: KFFC: Dave Gibb *FRIDAY* 17/10/08
From: Banjiman
Date: 30 Sep 08 - 02:10 PM

The great Dave Gibb is the next guest at KFFC on **Friday** (rather than Saturday, the village hall was booked for something else!) 17th October at 7.30pm. £5.

Please note the new start time as well..... some of the locals felt the evenings started too late so we have brought the start time forward by 1 hour.....allowing timne for a singaround/ session following the acts.

Dave is one of the best of the current crop of folky song writers.....just check out "The Leaving" on the KFFC MySpace page above...it is a truly great song! His songs vary from extremely moving to very funny with some great observations. He is also one of the fastest guitar players I have ever seen with a superb style all of his own. To really sicken the rest of us he is also a great entertainer and a really nice guy!!!

As you can probably tell, I'm really looking forward to this one.

See you here? If anyone needs B & B, just let me know.

Paul

Dave gave a great gig at Fleetwood Folk Club last night, if you've seen him before you know how good he is, if you haven't you should. So if you can get down to KFFC tonight

Seen Dave a few times, last time I was home I went to see him play in the Scotia Bar in Glasgow. Sat down with him and just about to get started and my nephew 17yrs 11 months and 2 weeks was asked to leave. I mean 2 weeks but the law is the law, so I took home doon the road and had to give him a wee beer to console him.
But Aye Dave is a really entertaining guy. musically gifted and personally really nice. I sent him an email requesting chords and nice as nine pence he replied saying if I had any more requests then just email him.
Just an all round Good guy
Dylan
