All went very well indeed and the Barnsley folky clan was well in evidence with Dave Burland and Mick and Carol Roberts and Jack Ledger et al!

All hands to the pumps now for the Dave Burland do on November 8th [Saturday]at our other venue the Keel Inn

Its ok saw and spoke to Sarah last night at the club (Monday)

A brill night with Gerry and Anni McNeice and Fyrish and String Theory and Terry (and me) and John Booker and Peter adding to the singaround and others

Dave Bottomley has been very busy booking guests and I will not give the game away just yet but some great guests booked for next year

Easter Folk singaround April 12th has guests Barrie and Ingrid on the Sunday at 1pm at the Keel Inn

Guest spots on the Friday and Saturday will be singaround format only

Don't miss Dave Burland at The Keel on November 8th 2008 (Saturday)

Garside and Gough October 20th 2008 at The Shaw Inn (Monday)

Just a matter of about 3 weeks to this gig! its on a Monday ~ and all this for £4 now come on!!

Paul hasn't been to Barnsley folk club since he was a pottery teacher at Holgate Grammar school and when he first teamed up with Robin

Do you remember them in Tom Tiddlers Ground with Brian Dewhurst/Preston and Chris Parkinson!

Paul has a lovely silken voice and Robin's musicianship has developed over many years of playing and teaching

I don't think Robin ever wanted to do anything other than play and sing!!

Robin Garside makes a welcome return to Barnsley on 20th October, this time with Paul Gough:

.. play mainly traditional folk and sea songs, but have been known to throw in a smattering of Jazz, Blues and humorous ditties to keep the night moving and the audience entertained. They intersperse their songs with droll banter and always send their audience home smiling!

Barnsley's easy to get to - just 1/2 an hour from the centres of both Leeds and Sheffield and only 5 mins from J37 of the M1. Plenty of nearby parking, and even though a guest night we endeavour to get round everyone that wants to sing
